CleanPwr is dedicated to helping to assure the availability of affordable food wherever possible. We offer plans for solar dryers and cookers to entrepreneurs in West Africa in both English and French, and provide materials not available locally on a not-for-profit basis.
Solar Dryers
After a careful search for the most productive food dryer, CleanPwr offers modernized plans and production support for the dryer developed by the New Mexico Solar Energy Association (NMSEA).
These dryers can:
Dry 40 kilograms of food at a time.
Be expanded by connecting dryers together.
Be used on a small commercial or village-wide scale.
Be constructed largely from materials found in West Africa.
Be constructed for a reasonable price.
Meet the needs of an entire community.

We offer free plans for the Bernard Solar Cooker. This fold-up assembly is capable of cooking a full meal by reflecting the heat of the sun from aluminum foil-faced panels.
These solar cookers are extremely economical; they can be made even in small quantities at a material cost of about $3 US, and sold for about $25 US.
Solar Cookers need no other fuel, thus saving the time and effort of gathering scarce firewood. They also eliminate the need to buy expensive kerosene, and the risk of accidental fires.
CleanPwr would be happy to support anyone interested in producing solar dryers or cookers as cottage industries, whether private individuals, enterprise development organizations, foundations, or Non-Governmental Agencies (NGOs). Help from the Peace Corps is possible. We can provide plans, assembly and use directions, materials sourcing, recipes, and marketing support as needed, all on a not-for-profit basis.
